might help in solving the KDE puzzle of audio management...
aplay -L list devices
aplay -D plug:hdmi test.wav
or aplay -D plug:front test.wav
plays to the specified destination.
Still no clue why mythtv and amarok work, but not flash plugin in mozilla or mplayer or xine...
